The sleeve door linked fire/smoke shutter with a pole-less combination eliminates fixed vertical supports that obstruct visibility and passage, which detracted from the design aesthetics, by incorporating the shutter's guide rails into the leading edge of the fire door with an evacuation child door. This enhances the design flexibility for disaster prevention spaces. In the event of a fire, the sleeve door rotates, closes, and locks in response to signals from smoke (heat) detectors, followed by the fire/smoke shutter descending under its own weight to fully close and form a fire protection compartment.
