A.Q Toilet has won the "Grand Prize" at the Japan Resilience Award 2024.
The "A.Q Toilet" and the "Off-Grid Water Recycling System Utilizing Composite Fermentation Technology" were awarded the "Grand Prize" at the 10th Japan Resilience Award (Resilience Award 2024) held on April 23, 2024, at Iino Hall in Tokyo, organized by the Resilience Japan Promotion Council.
In the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, four A.Q Toilets were provided to three evacuation centers in Noto Town, where the toilet environment was particularly challenging, and they are still being used by the affected residents. The toilets feature warm seats and are equipped with washlets, allowing for a safe and comfortable experience comparable to normal living conditions even during disasters and emergencies. The ability to provide comfortable toilet functions even when water and sewage infrastructure is disrupted was recognized, leading to this award from the perspective of national resilience and disaster response.
