Around 1990, Japan was at the peak of the bubble economy, and the job market was extremely favorable for job seekers. Because it was such a seller's market, jobs referred to as "3K" tended to be avoided. Even today, there are jobs still referred to as "3K," with the construction industry being a representative example.
