◆Scheduled for release after May Yuasa Trading Co., Ltd. announced on February 5 that it has developed an automated transport system for picking in logistics facilities called "Twin Pick" in collaboration with Phoxter Co., Ltd. and Plus Logistics Co., Ltd. "Twin Pick" is a system that accommodates narrow spaces and significantly improves storage efficiency up to ceiling height while reducing labor. The system is scheduled to be unveiled at Yuasa Trading's Kanto Logistics Center after May 2024. ◆Practical utility model system for simultaneous control of two types of robots In logistics facilities, securing storage space due to increased logistics volume and diversification has become a challenge, and there is a demand for labor-saving and efficiency improvements in both receiving and picking operations. However, implementing automation requires line assembly and effort, making installation in narrow spaces difficult. The "Twin Pick" is the first domestic system to simultaneously control two types of robots: the "high-rise shelf container automated transport robot" and the "low-rise shelf automated transport robot," for which a practical utility model has been obtained. By introducing the "high-rise shelf robot," storage efficiency is significantly improved, and by transferring products from the "high-rise shelf robot" to the "low-rise shelf robot," large-scale line assembly is no longer necessary.
