The 350mm center-to-center spacing of the columns in the wooden traditional construction method corresponds to a flocking narrow wall, which achieves resilience by using dedicated column base and head hardware, realizing a high strength equivalent to a wall multiplier of 7 times in a small space. In response to the changing housing needs during the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for narrow housing in urban areas has increased, leading to a growing desire for more flexible planning. Therefore, we have implemented a renewal to enhance usability. ■ Renewal Details - Allows installation in positions without columns or narrow walls directly below on the 2nd and 3rd floors. - The applicable column height has been adjusted to 2,200 to 3,000mm (for the 1st floor; 2,300 to 2,800mm for the 2nd and 3rd floors). - The usage limit per floor has been set to 50%. ■ Features of the Flocking Narrow Wall - Strength of 13.7kN/m, equivalent to a wall multiplier of 7 times. - By using resilient dedicated hardware for the column head and base, a ductile shear wall is achieved. - Simple installation by just attaching the dedicated surface material with screws after installing the column head and base hardware. High precision construction is possible regardless of experience. - Compatible with three types of configurations: middle column type, corner column type, and corner column type with orthogonal beams or through columns. - Usable on the 2nd and 3rd floors (installation is also possible in positions without columns or the same narrow wall directly below).
