In June 2025, disaster prevention measures for historic sites and cultural properties were incorporated into the first mid-term plan for national resilience. The unit net method has been adopted in many situations where landscape considerations are important. Moving forward, we aim to contribute to the protection of cultural properties and the prevention of human damage as a method that can balance landscape considerations and slope preservation. 【Features】 - This method suppresses surface landslides (up to about 3-4 meters thick). - Rock bolts and unit nets are connected by pressure plates, and their interaction stabilizes the slope. - Its open shape allows for minimal tree cutting. - The lightweight components excel in narrow areas, enabling efficient construction and shortening the construction period. 【Reasons for Adoption in Major Historic Sites and Cultural Properties】 - Landscape considerations are required near historical cultural properties. - The construction sites and access routes are narrow, making it impossible to secure large construction yards for methods like shotcrete frame construction. (The unit net is lightweight and easy to transport, eliminating the need for large construction yards.) - Cost reduction and shorter construction periods are possible compared to conventional methods, such as frame construction with rock bolts.
