In group homes, residents getting out of bed can lead to accidents. Falls due to getting out of bed not only threaten the safety of residents but also increase the burden on caregiving staff. The monitoring sensor "Techmat" alerts in advance when a resident gets out of bed, reducing the risk of falls. The Techmat, equipped with 1,024 independent sensor points, can accurately map the pressure distribution of elderly individuals with millimeter precision. It continuously monitors the posture and pressure conditions of the elderly in bed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If the pressure on a specific area exceeds a set time limit, it sends an alert to staff to encourage a change in position. The Techmat identifies behaviors that pose a fall risk by detecting in real-time when elderly individuals are getting up from bed or changing their posture to sit or lie down. When high-risk behaviors, such as getting up, are detected by the Techmat, an alarm notification is triggered instantly.
