The corridors of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's new building and the exterior walls of each section of the building have been finished with "New Jewel," a three-color blown granite that has been color-matched to the original stone used in the building.

We introduce an example of approximately 8,000m2 of exterior walls, including the corridor of the newly constructed "Tokyo Metropolitan Government New Headquarters," which was finished with three color-matched blown granite-like "New Jewel." 【Property】 [New Construction] Tokyo Metropolitan Government Corridor, etc. (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) ◇Construction Date: December 1989 ◇Construction Area: Corridor, underground parking lot, etc., approximately 8,000m2 ◇Substrate: PCa, RC 【Customer's Challenges and Requests】 ◆We want the exterior walls of the corridor connecting the new headquarters to match the color and texture of the main stone on the headquarters side. ◆The corridor is approximately 50m long without support columns and vibrates, so we want to achieve structural lightweighting. ◆Underneath the corridor is a plaza, and below that is a road, making maintenance difficult, so a long-lasting coating material is desirable. 【Adoption Process】 ◇We proposed our products and construction methods to the architectural firm handling the new headquarters. ◇Our product's color-matching technology that resembles the main stone, along with its design, weather resistance, and technical documentation were evaluated, leading to its adoption. 【Selection Points】 ◆Color-matching technology and design that match the color and texture of the exterior wall material (natural stone) of the new headquarters. ◆Lighter than the main stone with strong adhesion, accommodating the behavior of the corridor's substrate. ◆Our product excels in weather resistance, durability, and stain resistance, maintaining a beautiful wall surface for an extended period.
