High-performance seismic-resistant brace "J-UP Brace"
A buckling-restrained brace that sandwiches a core material transmitting axial force between a pair of steel mortar plates.
The "J-UP Brace" demonstrates excellent performance as a seismic damper installed between the superstructure and substructure (piers and abutments) of a bridge. It shows stable restoring force even in high strain areas (maximum shear strain amplitude of 4%) and has outstanding low-cycle fatigue performance, accommodating the large expansion and contraction required for bridge seismic dampers (80 to 120 mm). When installed on movable bearings, by equipping a sliding mechanism, the damper does not act under normal conditions or during Level 1 earthquakes, while it exhibits sufficient effectiveness as a seismic damper during Level 2 earthquakes. 【Features】 ■ Shows stable restoring force characteristics even in high strain areas ■ Excellent low-cycle fatigue performance ■ Accommodates large expansion and contraction required for bridge seismic dampers ■ Hysteretic damper utilizing the elastic-plastic deformation of steel materials ■ Exhibits stable energy absorption capability with minimal influence from temperature and speed *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
