[Metal Road Construction Method Case Study] Nagano Prefecture Disaster Prevention and Safety Grant Project

It is possible to minimize the upload load with support piles! Here is an example from the road widening project on Nagano Prefectural Road No. 2 Kawakami-Saku Line.

A road widening project has been planned between the Tokyo Electric Power Company's Hozumi Power Station (Chikuma River intake weir) and the JR Koumi Line. The "Metal Road Method" was adopted due to its ability to arrange piles with consideration for existing structures, minimizing the impact of terrain alteration, and reducing the superimposed load on the supporting piles. Additionally, to mitigate the impact on adjacent structures from pile driving, a steel pipe pile continuous down-the-hole hammer method was employed. The construction was successfully completed. 【Project Overview】 ■ Client: Nagano Prefecture Saku Construction Office ■ Total Length: 43.5m ■ Width: 4.55-5.75m ■ Number of Piles Driven: 20 ■ Weight of Steel Pipe Piles: 19.4t ■ Weight of Beams: 33.7t *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
