The "Corrosion Doctor" is an ultrasonic diagnostic device that qualitatively and simply investigates the extent of corrosion damage at the pavement boundary of road appurtenances (such as steel sign posts and lighting poles) near the surface (a few centimeters below the ground). By devising SH wave transducers and waveform analysis software, it allows for instant diagnosis of corrosion conditions without the need to excavate the pavement boundary, making it suitable for primary screening.
