[Example of Water Supply Construction] Sakae Tunnel
Here is an example of installing 17 side drain SDS with a length of 500mm, connected in an arch shape along the wall surface of a step.
This is an introduction to a case of leak prevention work using "line drainage" at the Sakaimi Tunnel on the Hokuriku Expressway in Niigata Prefecture. Water leakage occurred from the joints in the section where the tunnel's cross-section changes. Additionally, there was a 40mm step at the joint, and multiple lighting fixtures and racks were installed nearby, making it difficult to install arch drains, thus requiring effective countermeasures. By installing a 500mm side drain (SDS) and directing the water leakage from the joint to the drainage channel beside the tunnel, dripping onto the road was eliminated. 【Case Summary】 ■ Issues - Water leakage occurred from the joints in the section where the tunnel's cross-section changes. - Due to the step at the joint and the presence of multiple lighting fixtures and racks nearby, it was difficult to install arch drains. ■ Results - As a result of directing the water leakage from the joint to the drainage channel beside the tunnel, dripping onto the road was eliminated. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
