[Case Study] Significant reduction in sludge removal work and cleaning frequency with water screens.
Introduction of a case where the frequency of sludge removal work and cleaning of the intake was significantly reduced using a water screen.
In a river with a very high flow of fine sand, frequent cleaning of the sedimentation basin was necessary due to the previous method of water extraction. Additionally, leaves stuck to the wire mesh covering the intake, causing clogging and a decrease in water extraction volume. As a result, we were going to the water source almost daily to perform mud removal and clean the wire mesh. Furthermore, during winter, with snow accumulation exceeding 2 meters, snow removal was required to approach the water source, which became a significant burden. Therefore, we installed our "Water Screen." The amount of sand flowing into the sedimentation basin has decreased, significantly reducing the frequency of cleaning. In particular, the reduction in the number of cleaning operations during winter has greatly alleviated the burden of maintenance.
