The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare will make heatstroke prevention measures in the workplace mandatory for employers starting in June 2025 (Reiwa 7), with strict management and penalties. The measures will apply to work conducted in environments where the "heat index" is 28 or higher, or the temperature is 31 degrees or higher, and is expected to last for more than one hour continuously or more than four hours in a day. To protect workers in job sites and factories, installing windbreak rooms will enhance air conditioning efficiency, enabling effective heat and heatstroke prevention measures.
