A training base for the Academy athletes that was a long-held wish, implemented lightning strike countermeasures as a substitute for lightning rods.
We would like to introduce a case of installing the PDCE lightning protection ball to the general incorporated association MFA-B&S. When establishing a new ground for player development, we felt that lightning protection was essential. Just then, a lightning strike caused damage at a high school ground in Miyazaki City. We thought it was imperative to implement a countermeasure to replace traditional lightning rods, so we contacted a retailer and received a proposal to install the PDCE, which operates on the opposite principle of attracting lightning. We have installed two "PDCE-2020 Legacy Models" on the LED lighting poles for night games, aligned with the centerline extension. The PDCE lightning protection ball, equipped with features that do not invite lightning strikes, has already protected 4,300 installations across the country, including the Self-Defense Forces, railways, factories, and outdoor sports facilities.
