We would like to introduce a case study of the construction of an artificial wetland using the lightweight material "Super Sol," which is made from crushed and sintered waste glass. This system, developed through a collaboration between industry, academia, and government by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, purifies high-concentration organic wastewater mixed with manure and milk from dairy farms to a level suitable for river discharge. Super Sol is used as a lightweight floating material on the surface of the wetland.
