[Super Sol Construction Case Study] A6 Example of Sidewalk Elevation in Tokyo

This is a case of the renovation work at Kasai Rinkai Park in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo.

We would like to introduce a construction case study of the artificial lightweight material "Super Sol," made from crushed and sintered waste glass, used as a raised sidewalk material. This is part of the renovation work at Kasai Rinkai Park in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo. The project aims to make the central promenade and fountain plaza accessible for the canoe slalom venue for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Super Sol, which is lightweight and has excellent drainage properties, was used as a raising material for areas affected by ground subsidence. The upper layer of Super Sol consists of a base layer made of recycled crusher run, recycled graded crushed stone, and the paving material is reused existing natural stone paving.
