"Super Sol" is a lightweight material recycled from glass bottles and other sources. It is an artificial pumice made by crushing and sintering waste glass into irregular granules with a particle size of 2 to 75 mm. Utilizing its characteristics such as lightweight, permeability, water retention, non-combustibility, and thermal insulation, it is used in a wide range of applications including civil engineering, greening, agriculture, water purification, and insulation. In particular, the "Glass Foam Recycled Material - Super Sol" as a civil engineering material has a unit weight of about 4 kN/m3, which is approximately one-fifth that of conventional fill materials, making it very lightweight. When this lightweight fill material is used on soft ground, it allows for the construction of embankments without the need for foundation improvement, which can be economically advantageous. **Features of Super Sol** ■ Eco-friendly and Soil Restorative The raw material of Super Sol is the commonly used "soda-lime glass," with its main component being "silicon," which is abundantly found in Japanese soil. The remaining components are sodium and calcium, which are also used in everyday household products. Additionally, it is fired at a high temperature of about 900 degrees, making it a safe and reliable recycled material in a sterile state. ■ Permeability and Water Retention It helps control the permeability and water retention of the ground. Even during compaction, it excels in drainage. When used as drainage material or in planting soil, it contributes to creating an environment conducive to the growth of plants. ■ Easy to Work With as a Lightweight, Porous Material Super Sol is a porous material, weighing only 1/5 to 1/6 of soil. It allows for the differentiation of bubble types, enabling adjustments in performance and weight. By creating numerous voids, it can be made lighter, making it very easy to handle.
