Guidelines for Securing and Managing Toilets in Shelters
We also provide a list of examples of supplies necessary for hygiene management.
The issue of toilets leads to many health hazards and a deterioration of sanitary conditions, while simultaneously increasing the number of victims who experience discomfort. This, in turn, can undermine human dignity. In this document, we present guidelines for securing and managing toilets in evacuation shelters. We strongly hope that preparations and responses in line with these guidelines will progress, improving the poor toilet conditions that have occurred in past disasters.
