When freshly processed copper comes into contact with oxygen and moisture in the air, a reddish-brown copper oxide film is formed on its surface. Furthermore, the oxidation is accelerated by the condensation of moisture in the atmosphere, and when the combined effects of air pollution are added, it reacts with these pollutants and changes to a dark reddish-brown color. Eventually, over time, it settles into a unique green color that transitions from purple to blue to patina (as seen in copper statues). However, in environments with air pollution or corrosive gas, especially in coastal areas, corrosion progresses, damaging the patinated copper. The product 'New Garment #2300 BT Clear' applies this high weather resistance, high durability, and acid and alkali resistance to prevent discoloration and corrosion of copper alloys. It incorporates a rust-inhibiting pigment specifically for copper alloys that prevents oxidation between the copper alloy and the coating, while also blocking contact between the atmosphere and the copper with fluororesin, thus preventing discoloration and corrosion for an extended period.
