The term "carbon neutral," which you often hear, do you know what it specifically means? It refers to balancing the "emissions" and "absorption" of greenhouse gases. When we say "zero emissions overall," it means that the "emissions" of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, are offset by the "absorption" from activities such as afforestation and forest management, resulting in a net total of essentially zero. In October 2020, the government declared its aim to achieve "carbon neutrality" by reducing greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero by 2050.
