"Skate park surface finishing in the adjustment pond" Toyo Carbon Urban Sports Park
The newly constructed concrete surface of the adjustment pond has been finished with a long-lasting concrete surface that is resistant to "wear" and "rainwater."
In Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, we carried out construction to renovate a retention basin into an urban sports park. We have actually interviewed skaters about their experience with the existing park. They expressed many concerns such as: "It's rough and hard to skate," "The floor is gritty, causing excessive tire wear," "Nearby residents say it's too noisy," and "I'm afraid of getting injured when I fall." The solution to these issues was the "Seal Hard Skate Park Specification." - We ground and polished the floor to create a smooth surface. - We reinforced the surface with Seal Hard to improve wear resistance and enhance the quality of the concrete. The main factor causing damage to the concrete surface is "rainwater." If the park within the retention basin does not have a rainwater-resistant surface, it will deteriorate in just a few years. The solution to this problem was the "Aqua Pel Plus - Water Absorption Suppressor," which prevents acidic rain and other elements from penetrating the concrete, thereby extending its lifespan. During the opening ceremony, seeing skaters glide with smiles, exclaiming, "I've never skated on such a smooth floor before!" made me realize that this specification is optimal for the skate park.

The "Seal Hard Skate Park Specification" is a construction method product provided in the following steps 1 to 4. [Patent pending] ◆1. Concrete Grinding (for renovation only) The rough concrete surface is shaved down to remove surface irregularities. ◆2. Concrete Polishing For newly installed concrete: The surface's trowel marks and fine irregularities are smoothed out to create a surface without roughness. For renovated concrete: The surface, which has had irregularities removed in the previous grinding step, is further smoothed to eliminate grinding marks and fine irregularities, resulting in a surface without roughness. ◆3. Penetrating Surface Hardener Seal Hard This is a concrete surface hardener that "penetrates" rather than "coats," ensuring it is free from peeling. It provides strong dust resistance and wear resistance to the concrete. ◆4. Water Absorption Inhibitor (Water Repellent) Aquapel Plus This is a concrete surface water absorption inhibitor (water repellent) that "penetrates" rather than "coats." [Test Run Confirmation] If Aqua Pearl Plus is applied too much, the grip feeling weakens and it may skid during turns. Therefore, staff who are skilled at skateboarding will actually test it on a skateboard to check the resistance during sliding and the grip feeling during turns. If any issues are found during the confirmation, adjustments will be made through re-cleaning with a polisher or polishing.
