NIX Street Sports Park" located in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture is a well-known park that was established as a large-scale facility in the Hokuriku region and has produced bronze medalists for the Tokyo Olympics. However, starting from its third year, the surface began to deteriorate significantly, and by the eighth year, the poor condition of the surface, which was comparable to asphalt, led to a reputation of "a well-designed park but with the worst surface." During the renovation work, a large American grinding machine was used to grind down the rough concrete surface, and the sunken areas were filled with a special resin from the U.S. that can be used outdoors, creating a smooth surface. Additionally, a penetrating surface hardener called "Seal Hard" and a water absorption inhibitor named "Aqua Pel Plus" were applied to enhance wear resistance and rainwater resistance. Not only did the surface become smooth again, but it was also finished to be a long-lasting surface with wear and rainwater resistance! Since Hokuriku is particularly known for its high precipitation, such specifications are essential for concrete parks.
