[Case of On-Site Trouble] Port embankment subsidence caused by the deterioration of sand prevention sheets used in ports.

Short fiber non-woven fabric is unsuitable as a sand prevention sheet used for harbor applications!

We would like to introduce a case where multiple sinkholes occurred in flat areas beside the road less than a year after the completion of road construction on reclaimed land. The areas where the issues occurred used a short-fiber non-woven sand control sheet. It is estimated that the sand control sheet was laid on the stone embankment and was exposed to seawater for a certain period until the soil was filled in. During this time, it is presumed that the short fibers gradually flowed out into the seawater, resulting in a decrease in the thickness and strength of the product. 【Proposed Countermeasure Method】 ■ For sand control sheets used in ports, we recommend long-fiber non-woven fabric "Posible." - Excellent mechanical properties such as tensile strength - Superior resistance to water, oil, weather, corrosion, chemicals, and heat - Long-term stability in soil *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
