"Fifth Generation" LIXIL Housing Research Institute: Making CO2 Sensors and Controllers a Standard in Future Housing
LIXIL Housing Research Institute has announced a new housing concept for the 100-year life era called "Five Generations." The house comfortably connects four households: Unit 1 (85-year-old generation: elderly generation), Unit 2 (65-year-old generation: fulfilled generation), Unit 3 (45-year-old generation: working-age generation), and Unit 4 (25-year-old generation: child-rearing generation). It utilizes IoT technology and is based on concepts such as physical fitness, disaster resilience, and inheritance for the future, proposing evolved housing technology that supports mental connections, health management, and daily living. To create a supportive air environment for health, our "CO2 Controller" has also been incorporated into this concept home as a standard feature of the new housing. The five generations live in separate units suited to each generation while forming a small community under one roof, representing the future of housing, where air quality is maintained and energy efficiency is supported.

Beijing "Lixingxing Center" completed.
We would like to introduce one of the largest and most luxurious commercial facilities in Beijing, China, in which our C.H.C. system has participated. The project is named "Lixingxing Center." It began construction in 2014 under the design and supervision of Kengo Kuma, one of the most renowned architects in the world today, and was completed in June 2018. Covering approximately 30,000 tsubo (about 99,000 square meters), it consists of four buildings with a total scale of 100,000 tsubo, making it the most talked-about commercial facility in Beijing. In the summer of 2016, two buildings were completed and are being used as offices for major global corporations such as Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Mercedes-Benz's Beijing headquarters. Finally, at the end of June 2018, the last building was completed, which houses the Hyatt Regency Hotel, set to grand open on November 1, 2018. In this project, we competed with other companies in energy-saving technology and were recognized for our efforts, with a total of 1,300 CO2 sensors and controllers from our company installed in all four buildings. As a result, the philosophy and technology of "energy conservation and comfortable space creation" promoted by the C.H.C. system have been recognized not only domestically but also internationally, allowing us to gain confidence in our future global strategy.
