"Career Frontier (Foamed Functional Carrier)" is manufactured by foaming, resulting in a structure with a large surface area characterized by significant surface irregularities and numerous voids. Additionally, it is positively charged to facilitate the adhesion of negatively charged microorganisms, allowing for the retention of a large quantity of microorganisms. The carrier is colonized by protozoa such as bell-shaped ciliates and metazoans like rotifers and oligochaetes, forming a diverse biological film.
