Ducktape cast iron pipe (DCIP) spigot MD joint
Ducktape cast iron pipe (DCIP) spigot MD joint
The MD joint for ductile cast iron pipes (DCIP) is a mechanical seismic joint that does not require disassembly or lubricants. It has fewer tightening bolts, which shortens construction time. Additionally, the pipe and fitting can be separated simply by loosening the bolts and nuts, making reinstallation easy. The flexible anti-disengagement fittings (stop rings) absorb pipe distortion caused by earthquakes due to the allowance for disengagement length and the synergistic effect of adjacent joints, maintaining sufficient seismic performance even against seismic motion level 2 (90% non-exceedance probability, assuming soft ground).
