The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), which serves as the secretariat for the Green x Digital Consortium, has published a "Proposal on the Definition of Requirements for GX Products," which outlines the requirements for products and services that provide environmental value, such as CO2 emission reduction, and highlights their social importance. The Environmental Activity Data Value Working Group of the consortium (Chair: Yoshikazu Higashi, Ricoh Company, Ltd.) aims to establish a framework for the proper evaluation of the ancillary value (green value) of products and services that contribute to reducing environmental impact. They are examining common challenges and solutions for measuring, evaluating, and managing corporate environmental activity performance data. After organizing the concept of linking the products and services provided by companies to green value as an added value for incentive utilization, they have discussed the definition of requirements for GX products that lead to the evaluation and utilization of green value, compiling it into the "Proposal on the Definition of Requirements for GX Products."
