Showden Co., Ltd. will be exhibiting at the Crisis Management Industry Exhibition "RISCON TOKYO 2025" held at Tokyo Big Sight. This exhibition is one of the largest comprehensive exhibitions in Japan focused on products, technologies, and services related to crisis management. This time, we will have sections dedicated to "Lightning Damage Countermeasures," "Earthquake Countermeasures," "Water Countermeasures," and "Network & Security," where we plan to showcase our products and services. Showa Denko K.K. will open a demonstration and experiential lab environment called "Test Lab," equipped with one of the world's leading lightning test devices, within the Techno Center (Inage Ward, Chiba City) on August 6, 2025. The Test Lab is equipped with facilities such as a "lightning impulse current generator" capable of generating a current of 200 kA 10/350 μs, a "1200 kV (1.2 million V) lightning impulse voltage generator," and a "short-circuit current testing device," allowing for performance evaluations and verification experiments based on analysis of various products, including lightning protection products and power supply devices. Additionally, the Test Lab has renovated its control room observation area so that visitors can actually see the experiments and tests being conducted, providing a facility where they can experience the dynamic atmosphere of the testing process.

Showa Denko has developed a new service for lightning damage prevention in collaboration with Halex Corporation, called the Lightning Risk Monitoring System 'LiRiMoS'. The service has now been launched. It provides information on lightning occurrences and forecasts, automatically collecting, processing, and editing big data analyzed by the Japan Meteorological Agency, and offering it through a UI/UX that takes into account the characteristics of the information. By visualizing lightning risk, it can help customers reduce lightning damage and mitigate disaster in their businesses.
