"Just because it's under the floor doesn't make it special. 'Ventilation' is an essential theme for the entire home." SEIHO Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, SEIHO) has published a new interview article themed on the importance of underfloor ventilation titled "It's not special just because it's under the floor. Ventilation is important for every part of the home." With over 45 years of experience in underfloor ventilation and moisture control, the company emphasizes that "the underfloor is an environment that greatly affects the durability of the entire home precisely because it is not visible." The article points out that while the underfloor is not easily visible to residents, the stagnation of moisture and heat can lead to wood decay, mold, and termite damage, all of which impact the durability of the home. It also explains that in recent years, as homes have become more airtight, the structure and airflow under the floor have diversified, making it crucial to accurately understand the current situation. The article shares insights gained from the field, including examples of drying after underfloor flooding, and conveys the necessity of appropriate responses based on the causes. SEIHO states that "the essence lies in not treating the underfloor as special, but in how to ensure ventilation for the entire home," and will continue to provide information for creating proper living environments.
