Steel frame seismic reinforcement method "Smart Fit Method"
The concept is "minimizing the impact on productivity." Through refinement, it has become possible to perform non-welding work on existing structures when they are H-beams.
The "Smart Fit Method" is a construction technique suitable for seismic reinforcement of factories and warehouses built to the old seismic standards. In the previous Smart Fit Method, welding work was required when installing reinforcement columns, but with this refinement, it is now possible to perform work without welding when the existing structure's columns are H-beams. Additionally, we have achieved an improvement in the toughness index (F value) at the column base. 【Features】 ■ No-welding method No welding is achieved only when the existing columns are H-shaped steel. ■ Ensured productivity Construction can be carried out without stopping production (varies depending on construction conditions). ■ Low cost Total cost reduction is possible compared to conventional methods (example). ■ Space-saving The projection of columns is about one-third compared to conventional methods (example). ■ Shortened construction period A reduction of about 40% in the construction period is possible compared to conventional methods (varies depending on construction conditions). ■ Reliable performance Obtained BCJ certification - 283. *For more details, please contact us or download the catalog to view.
basic information
The Smart Fit Method involves installing reinforcement columns and anchor bolts outside existing steel columns and connecting the columns to improve the bending resistance, shear resistance, and ductility index (F value) of the column bases. In seismic reinforcement work for steel-framed buildings, welding is the common method for attaching reinforcement members to the structure. However, welding methods require significant time and effort for work and fire protection, and they carry the risk of fire during construction, leading to a demand for safe, reliable, and simplified joining methods that do not use fire. In the previous Smart Fit Method, welding was necessary during the installation of reinforcement columns, but with this refinement, it has become possible to perform work without welding when the existing structure's columns are H-shaped. Additionally, improvements in the ductility index (F value) of the column base have been achieved.

Refinement of the column base reinforcement method "Smart Fit Method"! / Welding-free work is now possible when the existing structure is an H-beam.
Senkushia Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Executive Officer: Nobuyasu Kasahara), which manufactures and sells construction materials and related works, has refined the "Smart Fit Method" for reinforcing the base of steel columns. In seismic reinforcement work for steel structures, it is common to attach reinforcement members to the building using welding. However, welding methods require considerable time and effort for work and fire protection, and they also carry the risk of fire during construction. Therefore, there is a demand for safe, reliable, and simple joining methods that do not use fire. In the previous Smart Fit Method, welding was necessary when installing reinforcement columns, but with this refinement, it has become possible to perform work without welding when the existing column is an H-beam. Additionally, the improvement of the toughness index (F value) of the column base has been achieved.

Launch of the "Smart Chronos® Method," a weld-free brace joint construction method that replaces conventional seismic reinforcement.
Senkushia Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Executive Officer: Nobutaka Kasahara), which manufactures and sells building materials and related construction, has begun selling the "Smart Chronos Method," a brace joint method that replaces traditional welded seismic reinforcement with a no-welding, short-construction-time approach. In seismic reinforcement work for steel-framed buildings, it is common to use welding methods when attaching reinforcement materials to the structure. However, welding methods require significant time and effort for work and fire prevention measures, and they pose a fire risk during construction. Therefore, there is a demand for safe, reliable, and simple joining methods that do not use fire. In response to these challenges, our company has developed the "Smart Attach Method" (brace reinforcement) with the concepts of "no welding" and "improved construction efficiency," which has been well received in seismic reinforcement for factories and warehouses. We have now applied this technology to develop the "Smart Chronos Method," which allows for the installation of brace materials using dedicated SC hardware and bolts.
