High shear strength high base standardization | Shear cutter high base method
The Shiakotta High Base Method is a product capable of handling large shear forces that could not be addressed by previous high base methods.
In the "High Base Method," which is the main product of Senkushia, there has been a challenge where, in the design of factories and warehouses, cases where braces are attached to columns sometimes result in insufficient shear resistance depending on the conditions. We have been working on solving this issue. As a result, with this product, even in cases where braces are attached to columns, it has become possible to transmit the shear force from the braces acting on the base plate to the foundation by adopting the "Shear Cutter High Base Method." 【Features】 ■ Adoption of base plates with shear cutters ■ Established design methods for column base types and V-brace types (special types) ■ Obtained evaluation from the Japan Building Center and certification from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism *For more details, please download the materials or contact us.
basic information
1. Adoption of a base plate with shear cotter → By embedding the shear cotter into the foundation, the shear force from the braces acting on the base plate can be transmitted to the foundation as the shear cotter supports the foundation. 2. Establishment of design methods for column base type and V-brace type (special type) → Full-scale experiments on the column base were conducted to verify performance. Based on the experimental results, a unique design formula was developed, and certification from the Japan Building Center was obtained. Notably, there had been no specific design guidelines for the V-brace type in conventional construction methods, but this time, specific design guidelines were established for the V-brace connection using the shear cotter high base method, and certification was obtained. Additionally, the materials used, such as anchor bolts, have received approval from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. (BCJ Certification ST-0289 / MBLT-0042 to 0046) *The V-brace type currently corresponds to specific projects. 3. Establishment of a unique construction method → The shear cotter exhibits significant shear resistance when embedded within concrete. The shear cotter high base has established a unique construction method that allows for the embedding of the shear cotter without creating a joint by using a lath formwork to hollow out the column shape.
