[ZEROSAI Case Study] Prefectural Ordered Construction Work Strong Winds Typhoon
Construction work near the coast affected by strong winds: Proposal for technology to prevent material scattering and creative ideas.
Due to the proximity of the sea and the lack of obstructions, we utilized 【ZEROSAI】 to implement strong wind countermeasures during crane operations. 【Operational Environment】 At this site, which is located along the coast, strong winds occur frequently, exceeding 10 m/s two to three times a day. There is a rule that crane operations must be absolutely stopped when wind speeds exceed 10 m/s. We installed the 【N Sensor】 near the site office to manage rainfall and wind speed, which contributed to safety measures and project management. 【Purpose of Implementation】 〇 To make decisions on stopping crane operations by monitoring real-time wind speeds, and to make project decisions based on weather forecasts. 〇 When performing concrete pouring or painting work, operations cannot proceed if it rains, so we need to know timely weather information through predictions and observations to manage the project and determine the feasibility of work.
basic information
- Because timely weather information was available, it became easier to decide to halt work. - Since weather information can be centrally managed through the [Disaster Prevention Board], information sharing regarding work decisions could be done immediately within the worksite. - Given that the site often experiences strong winds, a system was established to quantitatively manage the criteria for stopping crane operations.
