We have started handling a new compact, high-resolution curved array seabed mapping system manufactured by NORBIT! The NORBIT multi-beam sonar system "iWBMS" series is a high-resolution narrow multi-beam echo sounder that integrates the sonar unit (transducer), motion sensor (IMU), and surface water sound velocity sensor (SV). Data on depth measurement, motion, and sound velocity are consolidated into a single cable and transmitted from the underwater unit to the onboard station. The IWBMS series has achieved a patch-free design because the motion sensor is integrated with the transducer. By employing a curved array in the sonar receiving unit (RX), it can measure a wide range of 210 degrees and create a uniform receiving beam width across a wide frequency range from 200 kHz to 700 kHz without difficulty.
