ISO 13485 is an internationally recognized standard widely adopted as a requirement in the regulatory framework for medical devices in various countries. In Japan, with the revision of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law, a QMS ordinance compliant with ISO 13485 (regarding the standards for manufacturing management and quality control of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic drugs) has been established.
