We provide a "ship and wheelchair elevator" for individuals with mobility impairments to use when moving from the lower vehicle deck to the upper passenger cabin. The drive system employs either a rack and pinion engagement method or a roller chain method, demonstrating high durability even in the turbulent environment of a ferry and under conditions of severe salt damage.
