Fujikogyo Co., Ltd. (Hyogo Prefecture, Kakogawa City) has been awarded the Grand Prize in the Disaster Prevention Goods Awards, Category of Disaster Prevention Products, at the 7th event. The reasons for receiving the Grand Prize are based on the following points: - Lightweight and high performance - Rapid installation and removal - Cost performance with repeat usability - Adaptability to urban inland flooding As for future initiatives: ■ Product improvement and lineup enhancement - We are pursuing designs that are even lighter and more high-performing, aiming for further improvements in convenience and water-stopping performance. ■ Expansion of achievements and development of new application scenarios - We have surpassed 110,000 units in implementation and are actively promoting the spread of our equipment. - Applications beyond disaster prevention In resource recovery sites, flood guards are being applied to assist in adjusting river flow rates and upstream movement. - Demonstrations overseas In April 2025, our product will be used in an EV fire response demonstration at a fire station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, receiving high praise from firefighters for its ease of use and excellent water-stopping performance. ■ Diversification of sales and information dissemination strategies From 2024, we are widely recruiting new agents on a national scale to strengthen our distribution network, utilizing information dissemination through actual usage scenes such as photos and videos from users.

In April, the emergency drill for provincial-level transportation incidents in 2024 was held, which marked the official start of the introduction of Flood Guard F in China. Recently, we delivered 750 units of FZ80 and 60 units of FZ50 to two companies in Tianjin, as well as 900 units of FZ50. Additionally, we won the bid for the flood barrier project in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province (19,000 units of FZ80), and will begin deliveries in late June. Since April, many bidding specifications for flood barriers from Chinese municipalities have included the unique standards of Flood Guard F. We anticipate an increase in municipal projects and will expand our production system by establishing new molds and securing workers. We are pleased to announce that the FZ50 of the simple type water stop board Flood Guard has been selected for the "2023 Good Design Award" organized by the Japan Design Promotion Association. The "Good Design Award" is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation and recommendation initiative, inheriting the "Good Design Product Selection System" (commonly known as the G Mark System) established by the former Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1957. Its purpose is not merely to compete for the beauty of objects but to discover and widely communicate designs that enhance industrial development and the quality of life across various fields around us. The FZ50 was awarded not only for its functionality but also for its design appeal among numerous submitted products. Evaluation comments from the judges: The damage caused by floods is becoming increasingly serious day by day. In low-lying urban areas, rainwater rushes in all at once, entering underground spaces and interiors, causing significant damage. Traditionally, attempts were made to prevent flooding using sandbags, but they did not yield significant results. This design is structurally durable and stable, and its ease of connection allows for efficient blocking of rainwater. It is a timely design that is much needed.

We are entering a season where heavy rain is likely to occur. The Arakawa River, which flows through areas like Tokyo, is expected to cause significant damage, including in urban areas, if it floods. However, a certain location in Adachi Ward is considered one of the "weak points" of the levee. For the first time, a training exercise was conducted there to prevent the river from flooding. On May 28, the "Adachi Ward Keisei Main Line Arakawa Bridge Flood Prevention Training" was held, using the Flood Guard F80, and the event was reported by various media outlets.

Next-generation flood barrier to replace sandbags! The Flood Guard F80 is a type of simple flood barrier that can be connected and installed according to the location. The F80 is self-supporting and does not require installation rail construction, making it very economical. The main product, the FZ80, is made of ABS resin and weighs about 8 kg, which is approximately 60% lighter than a bag of sand, allowing for installation by women and the elderly. It has a maximum flood height of 81 cm, making it suitable for floor flooding. The basic structure is shared with the F50, offering flood prevention capabilities and durability that far exceed those of sandbags.

A new lineup of the simple flood barrier Flood Guard F, which helps reduce damage from sudden guerrilla downpours and typhoon flooding! The Flood Guard F65 has a water stop height of 65CM! It has less leakage than sandbags and is more cost-effective than electric flood barriers.

We measured the amount of water leakage from the rear wall using FS50. We conduct tests that follow proper protocols, not just tests where we spray water with a hose. We believe that publishing these results will serve as a foundation for trust, safety, and security.

In the fall of 2021, we plan to sell the Flood Guard F F65 and F80. The F65 has a waterproof height that is 15 cm higher than the F50, and the F80 has a waterproof height that is 30 cm higher than the F50. These items are very effective in mitigating more severe flood damage and storm surge damage.

"Flood Guard F" is a simplified water stop board that has been certified by clearing the evaluation criteria for disaster prevention necessity, safety, and functionality at the 23rd Disaster Prevention Product Recommendation Review Committee of the General Incorporated Association for Disaster Prevention and Safety. We conducted a leakage test using this product and the "Flood Guard Asia Specification." Fresh water was stored up to a water level of 51 cm, and adjustments were made to ensure that the water level did not fall below this point. After visually confirming the stability of the water level for more than one minute, we collected leakage from the collection point for one minute after the leakage amount stabilized. This collection was done three times, and the average leakage amount was calculated from the mass of the collected leakage, which was then converted to an hourly leakage rate.
