Awarded the 2018 Good Design Award.
We are pleased to announce that Mitsui Home Component's wooden single-story warehouse, "Smart Warehouse (trademark application pending)," has been awarded the Good Design Award for the fiscal year 2018. Moving forward, we will continue our efforts to expand the use of wood with consideration for the global environment, as well as strive to enhance Japan's industry and cultural life, which the Good Design Award aims to promote. 【Evaluation Points】 The Smart Warehouse is a wooden structure that does not require the removal of tent fabric or the typical replacement work needed every ten years, which is necessary for conventional steel frame tent warehouses in response to severe weather such as heavy snow and typhoons. It has been highly praised for its strength and maintenance characteristics that are not found in traditional warehouses. The construction period and cost are comparable to those of steel frame tent warehouses, and its exterior design, which is entirely devoid of decorative elements, is also highly regarded for its simple and dignified appearance.
