In seismic reinforcement work for steel-framed buildings, welding is the common method for attaching reinforcement members to the structure. However, welding methods require significant time and effort for work and fire protection, and they carry the risk of fire during construction, leading to a demand for safe, reliable, and simplified joining methods that do not use fire. In the previous Smart Fit Method, welding was necessary during the installation of reinforcement columns, but with this refinement, it has become possible to perform work without welding when the existing structure's columns are H-shaped. Additionally, improvements in the ductility index (F value) of the column base have been achieved.

The Smart Attach method is a non-welding, short-term bracing reinforcement method that replaces traditional seismic reinforcement.
