Expansion device "Hybrid Joint"
[NETIS Registered Product] A bridge expansion device with high water stop performance, comfortable driving, and ultra-low noise.
This is a bridge expansion device adopted nationwide, primarily by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, NEXCO, urban expressways, local governments, and other public organizations. 【Features (excerpt)】 ◆ Compatible with small to large bridges Handles expansion amounts from 20mm to 600mm, with a maximum gap of 1230mm. Other specifications can be designed separately. ◆ Usable for all types of bridges Can be used for all types of bridges, including steel bridges, PC bridges, RC bridges, as well as arch bridges and curved bridges. ◆ High water-tightness "NS-LL type": The steel plate and sealing rubber are bonded using a mold (press vulcanization bonding), preventing separation between the steel plate and rubber. ◆ Safe and easy installation Can be installed using a 4-ton unic crane without the need for large machinery like medium to large rough terrain cranes, allowing for safe and easy (speed-up) construction. Here’s a brief introduction to some installation examples! ~~ At the Tochigi Prefecture Nikko Civil Engineering Office (Maruyama Bridge), a "Hybrid Joint" was used for renovation work. * NS-LL type repair ~~ At the Kinki Regional Development Bureau Kinokawa River National Road Office (Takasegawa Bridge), it was used for a newly constructed bridge. * 3L type For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Ten years since the Kumamoto earthquake - The "Hybrid Joint LL Type" expansion device adopted for the new Aso Ohashi Bridge, designed to accommodate fault displacement.
The main shock of the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in the early hours of April 16, 2016, caused the Aso Ohashi Bridge to collapse, significantly impacting local transportation. Following recovery efforts, the New Aso Ohashi Bridge was opened in 2021. In the New Aso Ohashi Bridge, structures that can accommodate future fault displacements have been incorporated, such as the use of a steel simple box girder bridge over the fault. Additionally, the expansion joints installed at the bridge's seams are designed to follow fault displacements. Our bridge expansion joint, the "Hybrid Joint LL Type," has been adopted for this New Aso Ohashi Bridge, contributing to the safety and functionality of the bridge while accommodating large displacements. Japan is a country prone to earthquakes, and bridge design requires ensuring safety against Level 1 seismic motion (earthquakes occurring during the service period) and Level 2 seismic motion (maximum class earthquakes). Moving forward, our company will continue to provide technologies that support the safety and security of social infrastructure.

Notice of specification changes and expansion of application conditions for "Hybrid Joint LL Type"
This time, Crittec Industries has implemented changes to the product specifications and expanded the application conditions for the bridge expansion device "Hybrid Joint" in the "LL type (LL-125, LL-150, LL-175)." With this specification change, we have improved workability and made it possible to accommodate a wider slab gap than before. ■ Main Changes 1. Change in Anchor Rebar Arrangement To further enhance the structural stability of the product, we have optimized the arrangement of the anchor rebar. 2. Expansion of Applicable Slab Gaps By reviewing the design and structure, we have expanded the range of applicable slab gaps for each model. This increases flexibility in product selection during design and allows for adaptation to a wider range of bridge conditions. ■ Changes to Applicable Slab Gaps The numerical values for the applicable conditions (applicable slab gaps) before and after the changes for each model are as stated in the PDF of the release. ■ Future Developments With this specification change, the LL type has evolved into a product that can meet more severe conditions and diverse design needs. Our company will continue to promote technological development that contributes to the longevity of infrastructure.
Distributors
CRETEC, a company under Crittec Industries, was born from the combination of Create (creation) and Technology. As a comprehensive manufacturer of bridge expansion devices, we continue to develop expansion devices that contribute to the longevity of bridges and environmental protection. Moreover, we do not stop at product manufacturing; by consistently handling everything from research, design, manufacturing, sales, to construction in-house, we can manufacture and install expansion devices that meet the requests of our clients and general contractors, as well as the conditions and environments of the bridges and roads on-site. We also take into account the issues that arise during the installation of expansion devices and the damage conditions of existing devices that are removed, using this information to improve and develop our products. Please feel free to contact us for inquiries about bridge expansion devices, requests for materials, or estimates. ◆ What is a bridge expansion device? It is a component installed in the gap between the bridge abutment and the bridge girder, or between bridge girders. When designing a bridge, it is necessary to create a gap to prevent the bridge girders from colliding due to expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. The bridge expansion device is required to cover this gap and ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.
