Ground reinforcement work | The necessity to prevent building settlement and ensure a high level of structural safety.
The necessity of ground reinforcement work to prevent building settlement and collapse risks. A composite structure of stepped steel pipes and soil cement achieves strong support and high seismic resistance.
In construction planning, it is extremely important to confirm and ensure the structural safety of the ground that safely supports the building's load. If appropriate measures are not taken for weak ground, it can lead to uneven settlement, tilting of the building, and cracks in the exterior walls, significantly reducing the durability of the home and its asset value. The Tiger Pile Method is an innovative hybrid ground reinforcement technique that places a high-strength stepped steel pipe as the core material at the center of a soil-cement column. By integrating the large surface friction of the column with the excellent material strength and seismic resistance of the stepped steel pipe produced through hot manufacturing, it demonstrates high bearing capacity even under harsh load conditions and in narrow spaces, which are difficult to address with conventional column improvements. The synergistic effect of both components maintains excellent resistance to shaking and uneven loading during earthquakes, ensuring the structural safety of the building over the long term. GeoTech Co., Ltd. utilizes a strict quality control system and advanced technical capabilities to provide reliable ground reinforcement work, supporting the creation of safe homes.
basic information
The Tiger Pile Method is a technology that has obtained the GBR-C performance certification (No. 06-12 Rev. 4) from the General Incorporated Foundation Japan Architectural Comprehensive Testing Institute. It is applicable to buildings with three stories or fewer, a eaves height of 10 meters or less, a total floor area of 8,000 m² or less, and retaining walls or structures with a height of 5 meters or less, corresponding to a design ground pressure of 300 kN/m² or less. The soil cement diameters are φ400, 500, and 600 mm, and the core material uses hot-formed stepped steel pipes (φ76.3 mm, φ114.3 mm). The length of the steel pipes can be adjusted from 0.5 to 8.0 meters.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for reinforcing the foundation ground of small buildings, such as single-family homes, and three-story houses that require high ground bearing capacity. Additionally, it is widely used for reinforcing structures with high ground pressure that are difficult to design with conventional columnar improvements, as well as retaining walls and structures under 5 meters tall that experience significant horizontal forces. Furthermore, it is extensively utilized as a ground improvement measure aimed at enhancing the seismic performance of structures and preventing settlement in sites where bending stress and shear force are concerns during earthquakes.
