Ground reinforcement work | Low-noise small-diameter steel pipe pile method ideal for narrow sites and densely populated residential areas.
The use of small construction machinery and low-noise rotary insertion enables construction in narrow sites and densely populated residential areas. Quick construction without the need for curing achieves both a shortened construction period and consideration for neighbors.
This proposal presents a small-diameter steel pipe pile method to address ground reinforcement challenges in densely populated urban areas and narrow sites where the distance to property boundaries and adjacent buildings is limited. Selecting the optimal reinforcement method is crucial to eliminate the risk of ground subsidence and ensure the safety of structures. The small-diameter steel pipe pile method utilizes specialized construction equipment that is compact and highly mobile, allowing for smooth transportation and construction even in restricted spaces where large machinery cannot enter. By adopting a rotary penetration method, it reduces noise and vibration during construction, significantly lessening the environmental impact on neighboring residents. Additionally, since it is a no-excavation and no-curing method that does not use solidifying agents like cement, it allows for immediate transition to the next phase of foundation work after completion of the installation, contributing to a reduction in the overall construction period. Its applicability ranges widely from small-scale buildings of three stories or less to retaining walls, and it enables highly accurate bearing capacity calculations based on SWS test data. GeoTech has established a comprehensive on-site system, from preliminary surveys to neighbor protection and real-time data tracking during construction, ensuring safe and reliable work without complaints from nearby residents.
basic information
This construction method is a rotary insertion pile method consisting of steel pipes with an outer diameter ranging from φ89.1mm to φ216.3mm and special tip wings. The applicable conditions are buildings with up to three stories, a height of up to 13m, and a total floor area of up to 1,500 square meters, as well as retaining walls with a height of up to 3.5m. The pile length can accommodate up to 130 times the shaft diameter (with a maximum construction depth of 19.2m, etc.) and can be applied to a wide range of ground conditions such as sandy soil and clayey soil. It has obtained the Building Technical Performance Certification from the Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association (GBRC Performance Certification), allowing for reliable bearing capacity calculations based on SWS tests and SRS tests.

Applications/Examples of results
Single-family homes built on narrow lots in urban areas, joint housing on flagpole or irregularly shaped land, and foundation reinforcement for stores and offices in densely populated areas are very effective. They are particularly useful for foundation work in sites where large machinery cannot access or where securing a workspace is difficult. Additionally, they are ideal for neighborhood-focused sites where noise and vibration during construction need to be minimized, as well as for clean construction environments where the generation and scattering of excavated soil must be prevented. They are also widely used for reinforcement near existing retaining walls and for addressing differential settlement in structures with constraints on foundation excavation.
