Ground reinforcement work | Optimizing pile arrangement for mid-rise structures and steel frame buildings with small-diameter steel pipe piles.
Optimize pile layout for the foundation installation of mid-rise structures and steel frame buildings. By using high-load capacity small-diameter steel pipe piles, we prevent excessive design and achieve significant cost reductions.
This proposal is a small-diameter steel pipe pile ground reinforcement solution aimed at high-difficulty projects such as mid-rise steel and reinforced concrete buildings, residential homes with basements, and retaining walls that require high strength. To construct a foundation ground capable of withstanding the self-weight of structures and uneven loads, we present a rational reinforcement plan based on detailed ground survey data analysis. The small-diameter steel pipe pile method exhibits extremely high end bearing capacity by anchoring the enlarged tip to a solid support layer through rotary penetration. Compared to precast piles, it offers superior transportability and workability, and the no-dirt-disposal construction method reduces disposal costs for construction waste, significantly contributing to cost reduction in foundation work, which tends to become excessive. With a rich variety of pile diameters and wing diameters, detailed designs tailored to the design ground bearing capacity are possible. GeoTech implements consistent management by qualified personnel and real-time tracking using digital management devices, providing objective data necessary for confirmation applications and administrative reviews. Reliable technology and a strict inspection system support the long-term safety of structures.
basic information
This construction method is a rotary insertion pile method that combines special enlarged wings with general structural carbon steel pipes with an outer diameter of φ89.1mm to φ216.3mm. Its application range includes buildings with up to 3 stories, a height of 13m or less, and a total floor area of 1,500 square meters or less, as well as structures exceeding a design ground bearing capacity of 30kN/square meter, and retaining walls or structures up to 3.5m in height. It is capable of installation up to 130 times the shaft diameter (maximum construction depth of 19.2m, etc.) and is suitable for sandy soil, clay, and loam layers. It has obtained public performance certification and allows for high-precision structural design using clear bearing capacity calculation formulas based on N values and SWS test values.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for foundation reinforcement of steel-framed three-story houses, mid-rise apartments, single-family homes with basements, medical and welfare facilities, and large retail stores. It particularly demonstrates its true value in cases where clear calculation grounds and objective data are required for confirmation applications and municipal guidance. Additionally, it is implemented in proximity construction near existing retaining walls without inspection certificates (ensuring the angle of repose) and in ground improvement where soil bearing capacity is insufficient and large precast piles would be over-specification, achieving economical and safe foundation installation while minimizing excessive design.
